Annie and I loved your house, the daily sea eagle visits, the view, the short walk to the beach and the Wharf restaurant – all of it. The only bad part was leaving.

Cottage’ is a bit of a misnomer, as it’s actually fine beach house in the old style. It has a cottage feel to it, though, and is very well equipped with everything you need including a gas BBQ, and a wood BBQ in the garden, and a cosy original fireplace in the living room. We loved the high ceilings, big bedrooms (ours had an en-suite), modernized living areas, and a wide deck with views. We spent a lot of time comfortably ‘lounging’, inside and out, going through several of the books in the shelves. There are many lovely spots around the house and garden to find a quiet, sunny place for reading. Though we didn’t use them this time, there were board games, and a level part of the garden would be perfect for a game of cricket… next time maybe. Long Point Cottage was perfectly placed for us, just on the southern edge of Merimbula within easy walking distance to Bar Beach, and bacon-and-egg rolls at the Kiosk. The wharf is a two minute walk and our friends were wrapped to be catching squid there followed by a delicious dinner at the Wharf Restaurant, don’t forget to check out the aquarium. Merimbula is central to a stunning part of the far south coast, and we had great swimming, great walks, and exploring trips to nearby towns and national parks.
